For over 25 years, Dextera has shaped the window shading industry in Lithuania, setting new standards in design, quality, and innovation. At the heart of this success is a long-standing partnership with Coulisse, a collaboration that has helped Dextera evolve from a pioneering local business into a market leader in the Baltic region.
We spoke with Mantas Visockas, Sales Director at Dextera, about the key milestones, challenges, and innovations that have defined their journey.
Founded in 1996, Dextera introduced aluminum venetian blinds to Lithuania, bringing a completely new concept to the market. This bold step quickly established the company as a leader in window coverings. Over the years, Dextera expanded its portfolio to include roller blinds, wood venetian blinds, and smart shading solutions like Motionblinds, always maintaining a focus on high-quality, design-driven products.
A turning point came in 2000, when Coulisse co-founder Maurice Roetgering traveled through Northeast Europe searching for strong distribution partners. A meeting with Dextera founder Zidrunas Garsva marked the beginning of a partnership that would redefine the Lithuanian market.
Starting with wood venetian blinds, the collaboration quickly grew into an exclusive distribution agreement for Coulisse’s roller and venetian systems. Today, Dextera remains a strategic partner in the Baltic region, leading the way in premium shading solutions.
“From the start, it was clear that Dextera had the ambition and vision to transform the market," says Maurice Roetgering, co-founder of Coulisse. "Their expertise and ability to anticipate consumer needs have been instrumental in driving innovation and growth.”
After Lithuania joined the European Union in 2004, the market became more competitive, with an influx of low-cost suppliers from Poland. For years, Dextera maintained a strong pricing strategy to stay competitive. However, by 2015, it became clear that a differentiation strategy was necessary.
The solution? A shift toward high-end, design-driven solutions.
By introducing the Absolute Roller System in collaboration with Coulisse, Dextera repositioned itself. The Absolute concept provided a versatile, high-quality shading system with multiple configurations, streamlining inventory management and production while enhancing design flexibility.
“With Absolute Roller, we moved beyond competing on price and established a unique market position," explains Mantas Visockas. "The result? A faster supply chain, a clear product offering, and stronger customer trust.”
Dextera’s success with Coulisse is built on more than just supply—it’s rooted in a shared commitment to quality, reliability, and innovation. The Absolute Roller System played a key role in streamlining operations, allowing Dextera to offer versatile shading solutions with a consistent design aesthetic. The seamless transition from manual to Motionblinds smart automation has also been a major advantage, enabling customers to upgrade their blinds effortlessly.
Beyond products, Coulisse’s digital tools, such as the MyCoulisse Customer Portal, provide Dextera with an efficient platform for managing orders, ensuring a fast and reliable supply chain.

With a network of over 200 partner showrooms across Northern Europe, Dextera operates in Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Finland, Sweden, the UK, Ireland, Germany, France, and the USA.
Rather than expanding into new markets, the company is focused on strengthening its position in key regions such as Ireland, Sweden, and Scandinavia. Dextera is also investing in e-commerce, having relaunched its online shop in Lithuania with plans to expand to Latvia, Estonia, Sweden, and Finland by 2026.
"Our focus is on reinforcing our market position and providing the best solutions to our existing customers," says Mantas.
Shading Lithuania’s Most Prestigious Projects
Dextera has implemented Coulisse products in several landmark projects. In Vilnius, the Avia Solution Group headquarters features Absolute Roller systems with Screen Essential Ebony 3% fabric, including extra-large blinds measuring 1.5 x 6.5 meters. In Kaunas, the Kauno Dokas business center, located next to the river, integrates Absolute Roller blinds to complement its wave-inspired architectural design.

Dextera has always been an early adopter of Coulisse innovations. When Coulisse proposed a new business case for 2025 to showcase how a complete concept approach could drive sales, Dextera was quick to join. Now, the company is actively expanding its product portfolio to strengthen its market position.
Looking ahead, one-third of Dextera’s fabric collection will now come from Coulisse, including pleated and roller fabrics, with 100 fabric colors replaced with new selections. The merger of Coulisse and Lienesch played a key role in this decision, as Coulisse now operates its own production facility, ensuring better quality control and supply chain efficiency.
Dextera is also set to launch the largest wood venetian collection in the Baltic states, featuring 60 new wooden slat colors, including Paulownia and Bamboo wood, further enhancing its premium offering.
At the same time, Dextera is accelerating its adoption of Motionblinds, expanding its motor range to include battery-powered Bluetooth motors and Matter & Thread technology for seamless smart home integration.
