1992-2000
The history of Coulisse begins in the rural Dutch village of Enter, the Netherlands in 1992. Christiaan Roetgering establishes a trading company in window coverings focused on importing products from the Far East. In 1993 his brother Maurice Roetgering sells, with his company, the first container standard size PVC products in Russia. Coulisse grows into a dynamic family business, characterized by passion, drive and dedication.
2001-2003
On a mission to innovate the traditional, functionally oriented market for window coverings, Coulisse starts focusing on own development and innovation. In 2003, a large fire destroys the company’s office and warehouse. In the same year, Coulisse starts building its new headquarters with in-house engineering and stands out at its first presentation at the R+T in Stuttgart thanks to its innovative booth presentation. The Coulisse brand is born.
2004-2005
Coulisse opens its new headquarters, a new warehouse of 9,000 m2 and sets out for international expansion. With a continuously growing, fast-forward product portfolio and offices in Europe and the Far East, Coulisse is ready for the next step: to become a leading fashion brand in window coverings.
2006-2009
Coulisse invests heavily in the development of new collections and window coverings, including automation and, despite of the crisis, manages to realize the planned growth. In 2009, Coulisse attends the R+T for the third time. Here it demonstrates its innovative and creative strength with the introduction of an extensive range of innovations and the striking Silver White campaign, shot by world-renowned art photographer Guido Argentini.
2010-2012
With its complete range of collections, systems and automation, Coulisse has become a global one-stop-shop for customers worldwide. Coulisse opens offices in the USA and extends its network of partners worldwide, including in Australia and Africa. At the R+T in 2012, Coulisse presents its modular concept Absolute Roller Blind and underlines the seamless integration of Design and Technology throughout its range.
2013-2015
Coulisse focusses on perfecting its range to the detail and successfully introduces a shop-in-shop concept in further bringing the Coulisse brand to the market. Coulisse introduces its first collection for the contract market and shoots a campaign at the iconic Mies van der Rohe pavilion in Barcelona.
2016-2018
In 2016, Coulisse wins WCMA award for the Pull Motor. The following year, Coulisse celebrates its 25th birthday, marking a turnover of 100 million euros. Coulisse sets out on a new mission: becoming the best in the world for both the residential and commercial market with inspirational window covering solutions. At the R+T in 2018, Coulisse presents its smart technology concept: Motionblinds.
2019-2021
In a changing world, Coulisse wants to be more thoughtful about its products and what it adds to the world. Therefore, its focus is on less and better, but with an everlasting sense of beauty. Technology, automation and digitalization are key for Coulisse, both in terms of products and processes. In 2021, the B2C website Smartblinds is launched.
2022 and beyond
2022 is a year of triumphs. Coulisse celebrates its 30th anniversary in the business. Eve Motionblinds wins two awards for Best of CES in Las Vegas in January 2022. The new 50,000 square foot office, warehouse and experience opens in Miami, USA. Followed by a brand-new office and showroom in Sydney, Australia. The company pioneers with the invention of new robotic machinery to optimize production processes for customers worldwide. Eve Motionblinds smart technology begins to rocket with the introduction of the new smart home connectivity protocol Matter. Plans for the new Coulisse Campus are unveiled.
