Absolute Silence is more than a motor upgrade - it’s a system rethink. Our in-house research showed that most sound doesn’t just come from the motor, but from vibrations traveling through brackets, tubes and cassettes. That’s why our engineering team re-designed every detail.
Hardware that isolates vibration. Motors tuned for softer, lower tones. Software that controls speed and movement for smoother operation. Together, these elements create Motionblinds motorized blinds that run up to 15 dB quieter than standard systems - delivering a new benchmark for acoustic comfort in real spaces.
The promise of ‘quiet’ is everywhere in the window covering industry - but without a standard, those claims are hard to trust. Our engineering team built its own sound lab and discovered silence isn’t just about the motor, but the whole system. In this blog, Engineering Manager Bas Klein Tuente shares how we re-engineered Motionblinds to run up to 15 dB quieter.
In our custom-built, soundproof lab in the Netherlands, we measure and record sound under identical conditions. Using the advanced sound camera with 64 microphones, we pinpoint where noise begins and how it moves. We can even test two motorized shades side-by-side - so you can hear the difference and see the data.
The video shows you exactly how Motionblinds performs in real lab conditions.
