Markets shift. Interiors evolve. Collections don't stand still What performed yesterday is not guaranteed to perform tomorrow. At Coulisse, we anticipate that shift. Not by expanding what we offer, but by sharpening it. Every new collection starts with the same questions: What does the market need now? What does it need next? And how do we close the gap between the two?
The answer, for the window covering market, is a renewed generation of collections. For roller, the range is now structured across five dedicated books — Light Filtering, Black-out, Nature, Screen Textile, and Screen Function. For Roman, an existing strong collection gains a second volume introducing Soft Roman fabrics.
They begin in architecture, interiors, and fashion. In how people experience material, texture, and space. That's where we look first. From global design events to leading interior and lifestyle brands, we track how tastes evolve, how demand shifts, and which directions are building long-term relevance rather than passing momentum.
"We don't copy trends. We interpret them, filter them, and translate them into something that truly works in window coverings."
— Catharina Idema, Creative Director at Coulisse
For our market, this translates into a clear direction: more natural materials, more refined textures, and a growing appetite for softer, more textile-driven solutions. Soft, layered fabrics in the Roman shade category are gaining strong traction — driven by a broader shift toward warmer, more layered interiors.
A strong collection is not defined by how much it offers. It is defined by how well it works. Our process starts with a full review of the existing range. What performs? What no longer adds value? What is the market asking for that we are not yet delivering?
"We look at the whole collection, not just what's missing. Data shows us what performs, experience tells us why."
— Esterel Roetgering, Textile Product Expert at Coulisse
That combination — performance data alongside hands-on material expertise — is what shapes every decision. Proven bestsellers like Mombassa and Hampton stay in the collection. They are high-performing, trusted by the market, and continue to deliver. At the same time, fabrics that no longer serve a clear role are removed. And new introductions are added where there is real demand. The result is not a larger collection. It is a stronger one.
The roller collection is now structured across five dedicated books — Light Filtering, Black-out, Nature, Screen Textile, and Screen Function — each built around a specific direction. That structure is intentional, making it easier for partners to navigate, compare, and build a cohesive offering for their customers.
Nature draws from organic materials and crafted textile traditions, bringing softly woven structures and natural tones to modern interiors. Screen Textile introduces refined screen weaves with layered depth and a quiet sense of luxury — without compromising on performance. Screen function brings together high-performance screen fabrics engineered for precise light and heat control, aligned with advanced systems and Motionblinds technology for energy efficiency and well-being across residential and commercial spaces. New recycled qualities — Wembley, Prato, Marseille, Capri and Re-Essential — mark an important first for the range. Natural and elevated fabrics such as Aspen, Belize and Lima broaden the premium end. Shantung offers an accessible, design-led option across a wider price range. Color follows the same direction throughout — softer, warmer, and more considered, reflecting interiors that feel more residential and personal.
As interiors become softer and more layered, the demand for textile-driven window coverings grows with them. Roman shades are one of the strongest-performing categories in the US market right now — and clients are asking for more.
The existing roman collection — fabrics that work across roman shades and roller — has been a strong and versatile part of the range. Roman Vol. 2 builds on that foundation. A curated selection of soft, textured fabrics specifically developed for roman shades — rich in texture, timeless in tone, and available in both sheer and black-out qualities. Inspired by nature's quieter aesthetic, these fabrics suit light-filled spaces as well as rooms that require full privacy, giving partners a single collection that works across a wider range of client needs. Together, the two roman volumes complete a collection that is ready for where the market is heading — softer, more considered, and more textile-driven than ever.
Design direction is only part of what makes a collection successful. It also has to perform. Every fabric is developed with application in mind — light control, privacy, durability, and ease of use. Materials, hardware, and Motionblinds solutions are aligned from the start, ensuring that what works in a showroom also works reliably in the field. The updated physical collection books — with a refreshed design and colour — are now available. First shown at IWCE in late April, physical books will be in the Miami office and ready for customers from June, when samples can be ordered.
"The market is moving fast. What we've done here is create a structure that makes it easier for our partners to stay relevant, present stronger offers, and compete at a higher level."
— Jop Vos, Managing Director of Coulisse Americas
This is not a routine update. It is a more intentional way of building collections — structured around what the market needs, grounded in performance data, and shaped by a clear material direction. For assemblers, dealers, and resellers, it means sharper choices, stronger positioning, and a collection that is ready to deliver
