A First Day to Remember

Pamela’s journey with Coulisse began in an exciting way—right in the middle of the industry’s biggest event, the R+T fair on February 27, 2018. “Talk about an exciting first day,” she recalls. “I was immediately surrounded by innovation, industry leaders, and new ideas. It was the perfect introduction to the world of window coverings.”

From the start, she was drawn to the company’s focus on innovation, creativity, and strong relationships, and it didn’t take long for her to realize that this was where she wanted to build her career.

From Sales Rep to Sales Manager

Pamela joined Coulisse as a Sales Representative, where she focused on building relationships and understanding customer needs. Over the years, she took on more responsibility, stepping into a leadership role overseeing sales across North and Central America. “The transition happened naturally,” she says. “I started taking on bigger projects, mentoring new team members, and working closely with different departments. It wasn’t just about sales numbers—it was about finding solutions, building trust, and helping our partners succeed.”

Now, as Sales Manager for the Americas, she leads a team that works closely with manufacturers, helping them navigate the evolving window covering market. From strategic planning to hands-on customer support, her role blends leadership with the personal relationships that make the industry so rewarding.

Every Day Brings Something New

Pamela’s role is fast-paced and ever-changing, something she enjoys. “One day, I’m in meetings discussing strategy, the next, I’m working directly with clients to help them find the right solutions. There’s always something new to tackle,” she says.

Mornings usually start with analyzing reports, checking in with the team, and reviewing market trends. From there, the day could include customer meetings, coaching team members, and working on sales strategies. “There’s a lot of teamwork involved,” she explains. “We’re constantly bouncing ideas off each other, troubleshooting challenges, and looking for ways to improve.”

What Makes the Job So Rewarding

For Pamela, the most rewarding part of her job is seeing the impact of her work—both on customers and within the team. “I love working with our customers and seeing their businesses grow,” she says. “It’s not just about selling a product—it’s about finding the right fit for them. When you help a client overcome a challenge or introduce them to something that makes a real difference, that’s a great feeling.”

Trends and Challenges in the Americas

The window covering industry is shifting toward smart technology, sustainability, and energy efficiency. More homeowners are investing in automated shading solutions that offer both convenience and energy savings. Minimalist designs and customization options are also becoming increasingly important. With these trends come challenges. Rising material costs and the need for seamless smart home integration are pushing manufacturers and retailers to continuously innovate. Customers are looking for quality, affordability, and personalization—all at once. Coulisse is focused on staying ahead of the curve. The company offers a wide range of customizable options, smart home-compatible solutions like Motionblinds, and energy-efficient fabrics, helping partners navigate the evolving market. “Everything we do is about making things easier for our customers,” Pamela says. “From streamlining supply chains to designing intuitive products, we’re always looking for ways to add value.”

What’s Next for Coulisse Customers?

There’s a lot to look forward to. The Balanced Roller system launched in September 2024, and new collections—including a Roman shade system and a Flame-Retardant fabric book—are set to debut at IWCE in April 2025. New motorization options, including low-voltage motors and the CM-55 Matter Bridge, are also in the pipeline for next year. “These launches will bring exciting new possibilities for our customers,” Pamela says. “I’m really looking forward to seeing how they shape the market. I’m excited to see where we go next.”

What brings you joy when you’re off the clock?

At home, Pamela enjoys the convenience of Motionblinds in her bedroom, making them a seamless part of her daily routine. “They automatically lower when I leave home, which is super convenient and gives me peace of mind,” she says. “It’s one thing to sell a product, but when you personally experience how it improves daily life, it makes you even more confident in what you do.”

When she isn’t working, she makes the most of her time by traveling and staying active. “Traveling is my way of resetting,” she says. “Exploring new places, experiencing different cultures—it’s something I really enjoy''. She’s also a fan of pickleball, a sport she plays regularly. “It’s a great way to stay active and have fun,” she says. “It keeps me moving and gives me something to look forward to outside of work.”
